Construction is progressing with the Shelter Bay Development.

As the road is near completion, the developer is hoping that the basements for the first few units will start later this week or early next week, with a total of 108 townhomes planned for construction. The phases will progress based on consumer interest. They hope to transition the foreshore from a commercial site to a private beach by next summer and have the amenities building in place by 2025.
It has been confirmed that there a marina application has not been submitted at this time. Although, there is an understanding that a dock application has been submitted for this property. Dock applications are regulated as to size and scale and they must conform to their requirements. It is the intention of the developer to refer to it as a members-only "day use" dock. The idea is that it is walkable for strolling or viewing, that residents may be picked up or dropped off by boats, and possibly a boat day-use space. It is not the intention to have boat lifts or leave boats moored overnight.

There is a major development planned on the WFN lands between Blackmun Bay and Campbell Place on the waterside of Campbell Road. This development will consist of 105 townhouses and 163 multi-story units. Approval for this project could happen as soon as 2018, with construction beginning in the Spring of 2019.
There is nothing that the residents of West Kelowna can do to impact this development - albeit there is the opportunity to challenge both WFN and West Kelowna on the impact of the added traffic from all the new developments on Campbell Road and on the entrance to the bridge. This will not be the last development proposal for both Campbell and Sneena Roads on WFN lands.
